Which project with Mark Odom Studio are you most proud of?

The Pitch. It takes the simple task of connecting two spaces (the Austin FC Stadium and a neighboring business park) and makes it such an exciting experience. The way the buildings nestle into the manipulated landscape creates little unexpected moments like a long stadium stair terminating at the base of a projecting second story conference room.

Hobbies?

I row on Ladybird Lake with the Austin Rowing Club Masters Racing Team!

Favorite snack?

Fruit and cheese (especially apples and cheddar)

How do you take your coffee or caffeine?

Hot latte with some honey

Can you list one space or structure that inspired you when you were little?

My family traveled a lot when I was growing up, and we would fly out of the SFO International Terminal in San Francisco. The soaring ceiling has white bowstring trusses outlined with skylights, making the wedge of space inside of the trusses seem to glow. That space was the gateway to the rest of the world for me as a kid, and I will always associate it with the excitement of travel.

Where in the world would you like to visit most?

Patagonia

What is your favorite thing about working for Mark Odom Studio?

So far, the collaborative nature of the office. It seems like there is a real effort to keep everyone in the loop on all of the projects the office is working on, which makes it feel a lot easier to give and receive feedback if you have ideas for others or need help on what you are working on.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

I spent most of my childhood in California, but my family spent 6 months living in Spain when I was eight years old, and 6 months living in India when I was thirteen.

Hometown?

Santa Cruz, California
